Yam Kang (foot fire massage) is a traditional Thai massage technique. Originally used by field workers after a physically strenuous day at work.
The sole of the foot (or/and a herbal compress) is dipped in herbal water (ginger-turmeric) and warmed on a hot iron. The warm sole of the foot is then placed directly on the treating person’s skin. This technique has a positive effect on muscle pain and tension. Tendons, joints, and bone pain, loss of feeling/numbness and symptoms of paralysis.
